TechFest IIT Powai, Mumbai – 18 December 2016

With infinite beautiful things the city of Mumbai has to offer, every day here can be an amazing day if you know what to look out for & where.

Looking forward to a fun filled Sunday, we started at morning & decided to hang out at Powai Area in Mumbai.

The first thing that caught our attention was the long line of excited people outside the IIT Powai campus entrance. A little look around & internet surfing revealed that Asia’s largest tech fest was on at IIT Powai & we were at the right place, at the right time.

We got in & realized the enormity of the 3- Day festival. IIT-Powai has a huge campus & there was a lot going on at different locations at the same time. We picked our top events, competitions,  exhibitions & set in motion to take as many pics & footage as possible to share with our readers at tejwebworld.com.

 

1.) Robotics competition.:

Held in the Civil department parking lot area, the brightest young minds from IITs & premier tech-education institutes all over India had gathered here with their self-engineered robots to participate in the robotics competition. We witnessed some of the fiercest drone racing, Robots Sumo wrestling, robots swimming, robots golf, robots basket ball & robots relay racing competitions.

2.) Exhibitions: The Tech Fest brought together Innovative minds & Start ups from all across the Globe.

 

 

Some of the key inventions/technology at display were Bionics arms from Russia, Solar Farm (Solar panels) cleaning robots from Belgium, explosive detection technology, Outdoor Air Purification System, Innovative travel solutions for disabled, MARS Rover designed by IIT-Bangalore, Underwater search & location tagging robot, Flying Drone controlled by Mind from the United States & many more.

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) was also present at the event with their satellite launch Vehicle Models & rockets whereas the military made its display with the Bofors Artillery Gun, Radars & Anti-aircraft weapon systems.

3.) Auto-Expo: Car & Bike enthusiasts were pleased with the wide array of sports bikes on display & modified cars.

The TechFest at IIT-Powai included many more activities , events, competitions & lectures which thrilled the audience young & old alike. The one of its kind festival was a perfect platform for young minds & promising start up companies to bring forward their new technologies & innovations designed towards making life better & the world, a better place.
