India,Pak to Trade in Power,Fuel.

Leaving Petty differences in the Past,India & Pakistan now seem to be on the  path of enhancing their trade & Co-operative relations with each other.Both the Countries are entering into an Agreement to exchange Power & Fuel in a hope to boost the Bilateral trade. The two countries have decided to trade in electricity through a specially-built high voltage direct current link between Amritsar and Lahore.

The plan is to transfer 500MW through the Punjab border with the tariff linked to the market rate. In addition, talks are in progress to build a 200-km pipeline originating from the Bathinda refinery to move surplus diesel from India to Pakistan.

The Deal is expected to see the Light of the day  when commerce and industry minister Anand Sharma will visit Pakistan in mid-February with a business delegation.

This move is an good example of the willingness of both the countries to boost cross-border trade and Enhance Bilateral Trade Co-operation,thereby assuring stability ,Friendly relations & Economic growth for both,India as well as Pakistan.
