Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. has launched an advanced version of Grand Vitara in the Indian automobile market. The new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara 2.4 is priced between Rs 16.67 lakh-Rs 17.97 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The recently launched Grand Vitara 2.4, a sports utility vehicle is being considered as one of the strategic models in the Maruti Suzuki range. The new SUV is reloaded with a 2.4 litre variable valve timing (VVT) engine to deliver a balanced mix of power and efficiency. It delivers a maximum power of 163.5 bhp@ 6000 rpm and a torque of 225 NM@ 4000 rpm.

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara 2.4 comes with an all time 4-model, 4-wheel drive (4WD). Disc brakes in the rear wheels for superior braking makes this SUV safer and advanced. The Maruti Alto is the Indian-built Suzuki Alto version, manufactured by Maruti Suzuki in India. It was launched in the local Indian market on September 27, 2000 although the Maruti Alto brandname was very successfully being used to export the Maruti Zen to Europe from India since around 1994 having captured over 40% market share in Belgium and 33% in Netherlands by 1998.

It is the best-selling hatchback in India. Since 2006, It is India’s largest selling car and crossed the 1 million production figure in February 2008 becoming the 3rd Maruti model to cross the million mark in India after Maruti 800 and Maruti Omni and 4th overall joining Hyundai Santro. Besides being exported to Europe from 1994-2004, it has also been exported to several other countries.

The Alto is powered by a 796 cc gasoline engine with 3 cylinder, 4 valves per cylinder MPFI engine with 32bit ECM.

Performance versions of the Alto started to appear in 1985 when a turbocharged engine was made available. The CA71 gradually acquired more performance-related modifications until the Works version was introduced in 1987. The Alto Works was the first kei-car to reach the legal limit of 64 hp (48 kW). It acquired considerable popularity, and models of it are still made by Fujimi.

The performance models continued in the Alto’s later versions; as technology and the kei car regulations changed more performance became available, and incarnations such as the RS/X and RS-Z were released. By 1999 the top engine was a light-alloy 658-cc with turbocharger, DOHC and 4 valves per cylinder, which produced 64 Ps (2,000 Ma) and 80 ft·lbf (110 N·m).

As Suzuki introduced new models into the kei car class, it began to spread the performance engines to other models and designate the Alto as a less costly model. The current Alto is only available with 54PS in Japan; the 64ps engine is now provided in models such as the Kei Works and the Alto Lapin SS.

A Mid-Engine Grand Tourer,the Bugatti Veyron EB 16.4 is  produced by Bugatti headquarters in Château St Jean in Molsheim ( France). The production and development is  credited to Ferdinand Karl Piech.Named after French racing driver Pierre Veyron, after the Le Man  in 1939 while racing for the  Bugatti company. Two hundred  Veyron are known to have been built and delivered since production began. All the Veyron editions contribute to the 200 being built (stopped built in late 2008). The editions that are contributing are the Veyron, Veyron 16.4, Pur Sang, Hermes Edition, Sang Noir, Targa, Vincero, and the Bleu Centenaire. It will be replaced with the Grand Sport, which is essentially a Veyron Convertible.

Built with  a W16 Enigne,the Veryon hosts  16 cylinders in two banks of eight cylinders,the equivalent of two narrow-angle V8 images mated in a “W” configuration. Each cylinder has 4 valves for a total of 64, but the narrow staggered 8 configuration allows two camshafts  to drive two banks of cylinders so only 4 camshafts are needed. The engine is fed by four turbochargers and displaces  8.0 L (7,993 cc/488 cu in) with a square 86 mm by 86 mm (3.4 in × 3.4 in) bore and stroke.

With a claimed 1001 horsepower, the Veyron is a major technical achievement. Its engine has 16 cylinders, essentially formed by joining two V8 engines at the crank.

This W16 powerplant displaces 8.0 liters and features ten radiators for everything from the engine cooling systems to the air conditioner.

The $1.3 million Veyron  reaches  a top speed of 253 mph -- a speed it can maintain for 12 minutes before all the fuel is gone. Power is transmitted to the pavement via four-wheel-drive and a seven-speed dual-clutch automated manual transmission.

The car can hit 60 mph in just 2.5 seconds, 100 mph in 5.5 seconds, and 150 mph in 9.8 seconds. Getting to 200 mph takes 18.3 seconds, and 250 mph takes 42.3 seconds.

A special key is required to “unlock” the Veyron’s top speed of 250+ mph. The car is then lowered to just 3.5 inches from the ground. A hydraulic spoiler extends at speed, and it can also serve as an air brake.

Made by Rolls Royce Motor Company,the Rolls-Royce Phantom is  British. It was launched in 2003  and was built in England. The  most recent additions to the  Rolls-Royce brand are Rolls Royce Phantom  Drophead Coupe’ and  Rolls Royce Phantom coupe’.

It has a 6.75  litre, 48-valve, V12 engine that produces 453 bhp (338 kW; 459 PS) and 720 N·m (530 lb·ft) of torque. The engine is derived from BMW’s N73 V12 powerplant. Assembled by BMW,the engine uses direct fuel injection, and is a drive by wire design, using valvetronic technology. The power output is regulated by infinitely varying valve lift by moving the rockers and rocker fulcrums via electric servos, rather than using the throttle body.The throttle body is maintained for fail-safe operation.

The aluminium extrusions that are used to construct the aluminium spaceframe are produced in Norway using hydroelectric power, shaped and machined in Denmark and finally hand-welded in Germany.

It is 1.63 m (63 in) tall, 1.99 m (74.8 in) wide, 5.83 m (228 in) long, and weighs 2485 kg (5478 lb). The body of the car is built on an aluminium space frame and the Phantom can accelerate to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.7 s. It has a six-speed automatic transmission and double wishbone suspension.The transmission is sourced from ZF of Germany. The vehicle electronics are sourced from BMW.

An extended wheelbase Phantom was presented in March 2005 at the Geneva Motor Show, which is 250 mm (9.8 in) longer than the standard Phantom. It is currently referred to as the Phantom Extended Wheelbas^e (or EWB).
